There's always room for Mr Jack!

Neat, on-the-rocks or in a Lynchburg Lemonade.....
I love (!!!) Jack Daniels Old no 7!

Lynchburg Lemonade

1 oz Jack Daniels
1 oz Triple sec
1 oz Fresh lemon (or sourmix)
Sprite/7Up

Shake the first 3 ingredients with ice, strain into a highballglass with ice. Topp with Sprite/7 Up.
Garnish with a lemon wedge.

JD is made in Lynchburg, Tennessee and is commonly mistaken for a bourbon, which it is not. In fact, it is a Tennessee whiskey.

Oban 14

Perhaps my favorite Scotch :)

Oban is one of the, if not thé, smallest destilleries
in Scottland.
It has never been closed, but continued to make whisky for more than 200 years!

To me, it's the perfect combination of flavours.
Quite malty and sweet in the opening, with a medium body and a generous dry finish. Not to much peat....

I have always loved this italian bitter. Some say either you love it, or you hate it.... and I definitly love it!
I prefer to drink it with a beer chaser or as a digestif.

Mmmm...Beer

I discovered this microbrewery during my stay in Greece this summer.

Apparently, they have 6 different styles - and I tried them all!

The different styles are;

Athens Lager
Very typical for the Hellenic- style beer. Has a sweetish taste, with almost no bitterness. If you like Mythos, you'll definitly love this!

Pilsner
Nicely bitter and very refreshing in the heat.

Smoked Lager
I'm usually quite fond of beer which gives you the impression it's been aged in whisky-barrels. I don't know if this is the case here, but I definitely liked it. But then again, I'm a whisky enthusiast:)

Black Lager
This is a dark, round and chocolaty beer. It's quite dry - but I have to admit, not my favorite.
Perhaps I'm just not used to seeing my lager so tanned - ha ha

Red Ale
I really loved this! (But to me it's more of a autumn type of beer)

Weiss

I'll add more details on the different styles later ;)

They do have a web page, but it's apparently under construction.....
or so they say:)

www.craft.gr

I read in the paper (a greek one, so I'm not 100% sure if I understood all of it) , that it was established in 1997 by a doctor/professor who was tired of his job and wanted to dedicate his life to his true love - brewing beer!!!

It's winter!!!!

Well, It's getting cold and It has already snowed once this year...... This of course means it's Irish Coffee-time :)

Although I do love other coffee drinks too - this has also been my favorite.
(Other favorites; Nutty Coffee, Mexican Coffee, Greenland Coffee, Bailey's Frappé)

When it comes to which whiskey I prefer in my Irish,
I'm rather torn.....
Jameson
(www.jamesonwhiskey.com)
is obviously the most common one here,
but kind of like
Kilbeggan. (www.kilbegganwhiskey.com)

My perfect Irish is like this

4 cl Irish Whiskey
1-2 tbs Demerara sugar
8 cl Hot Coffee
Fresh cream

How to
Stir the coffee and sugar till the sugar is dissolved, then add the whiskey.
Finish with a top layer of fresh cream as seen on the picture.
The coffee is drunk through the layer of cream.

Tip; The cream should not be like whipped cream, but it will taste much better if you whip a little bit of air into it ;)

My summer in cocktails ;)

Here are some of my favorite drinks from the summer;)
The blue cocktail is called Blue Train, it's lovely!!!
Heard it was made by the amazing Dale DeGroff...

The Longdrink is called Lynchburg Lemonade, and is one of my all-time
favorites!!! I Looooove Mr Jack ;)

Then there is the Sazerac, which is a fantastic cocktail (in a tumbler glass here)
It is said to be the first ever american cocktail, and obviously I had to try it - since I visited New Orleans this spring . (Said to be its hometown )

Last is a little idea I had late at night, (not too late) which mixes Passoã with mint. Tasted very nice, perhaps a little to sweet for my taste ;)
